Surgical Camp at Namobuddha Municipality

The success and impact of the three-day eye screening and surgical camp held at Namobuddha Municipality by the Netradham Foundation in collaboration with Methinkot Hospital (Bhakundebesi) were profound. Throughout the duration of the camp, which spanned two days, from Magh 4, 2080 to Magh 5, 2080 the dedicated team from the Netradham Eye Care Center worked tirelessly to provide crucial eye care services to the community.

During the camp, the team conducted screenings for over 300 individuals, a significant number that underscores the demand for eye care services in the area. Beyond screenings, the team performed a total of 18 cataract surgeries and 3 pterygium excision surgeries. Importantly, the camp went beyond surgical interventions by providing additional support to patients in the form of free prescription drugs, free near-reading glasses, and free cataract glasses. This comprehensive approach ensured that patients not only received necessary surgical treatments but also had access to essential medications and aids to support their visual health and well-being.

Dr. Sanyam Bajimaya’s leadership played a pivotal role in guiding the team throughout the camp, ensuring efficient operations and maintaining a high standard of patient care. Under his direction, every operation yielded outstanding results, reflecting the team’s expertise and dedication to excellence in healthcare delivery. The significant impact of the surgery camp persuaded Methinkot Hospital’s medical board to recognize the importance of ophthalmic care and take steps to establish an ophthalmology department. This decision underscores the enduring legacy of the camp, as it lays the groundwork for sustained access to eye care services for the community in the future.

Overall, the collaboration between the Netradham Foundation and Methinkot Hospital, coupled with the leadership of Dr. Sanyam Bajimaya and the dedication of the medical team, resulted in a successful and impactful initiative that addressed critical eye health needs and laid the foundation for continued support and development in the field of ophthalmology.
